Putin has a big problem underground

Soldiers are not the only ones fighting bitterly against Russian troops in Ukraine. Another type of covert resistance also plays a decisive role. It is a covert fight behind the front and behind enemy lines: in the Ukraine war, the so-called partisans influence what happens and how the war progresses. They are considered armed resistance fighters who do not belong to the regular armed forces. The Ukrainian city of Melitopol has been occupied for months. Its mayor, Ivan Fedorov, was kidnapped by Kremlin troops after the outbreak of war and released in a prisoner exchange. Referring to the partisans, Fedorov spoke of “a gift to our secret services and soldiers” – but also of the extreme dangers and torture methods used by the Russian military. Mayor and harsh footage filmed behind the battle lines reveal how Ukraine works with partisans – and how “shadow warriors” can help decide battles. You can see what the partisans have already achieved and how they exposed Russian troops in Ukraine here – or in the video above.
