This is how Karl Lauterbach wants to relieve the nursing staff

The nursing staff has received special attention in the Corona crisis. Health Minister Karl Lauterbach now wants to make their work more efficient.

In the wake of the growing number of coronaviruses and staff shortages in hospitals, Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) is planning a reform to ease the burden. This is the biggest hospital renovation in the last 20 years, he said on ZDF “Morgenmagazine” on Tuesday.

The goal is to be able to run all appropriate treatments as a day treatment. This would eliminate night services and relieve the burden on nursing staff, he asserted. “We don’t have enough nurses compared to the population, we use them very inefficiently.”

In view of the increasing number of corona infections, the minister once again advocated the need for masks indoors. “We already have a lot of cases.” In late fall and winter, it will cause major problems. “I hope that countries will show responsibility,” Lauterbach said.
