Andriy Melnyk was Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany for almost eight years. He often creates a stir with his speeches. Now Melnyk has said goodbye with a Twitter post.
Andriy Melnyk, Ukraine’s former ambassador to Berlin, bids farewell to Germany. “I returned home with my head held high and with a clear conscience and feeling that I had fulfilled my duty to Ukraine,” the controversial diplomat wrote on Twitter Friday morning. “Thank you, dear German friends, for your patience,” he added.
Apparently, his successor will take over on Saturday
The diplomat has repeatedly criticized German politics in the wake of Russia’s war of aggression in his homeland and accused the German government of being too hesitant, especially with regard to supplying arms to Kiev.
