Scholz called Putin again

The Kremlin announced talks between Putin and Xi

4:52 PM: According to the Kremlin, the war against Ukraine will be the subject of upcoming talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping. “Of course, this question will be discussed in detail at the upcoming meeting,” Russian presidential adviser Yuri Ushakov said at a press briefing on Tuesday, according to the Interfax news agency. Ushakov praised China’s stance on the conflict as “balanced”.

Putin and Xi are meeting in the former Soviet republic of Uzbekistan in Central Asia as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. The conference will be held for two days in the big city of Samarkand. Also expected are Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to Ushakov, Putin wants to talk with Erdogan about, among other things, the implementation of the grain agreement. The deal unlocked Ukraine’s seaports, which had been blocked for months, to deliver Ukrainian grain to world markets and ease food shortages, particularly in poorer countries. But the Russian leadership has recently been unhappy with its implementation. The grain goes mainly to Europe, criticizing Moscow. In addition, there is no promise to ease sanctions on Russia’s fertilizer and food sectors.

Report: 16 Murder Tanks “Deliverable” From Rheinmetall

4:38 pm: According to a report, arms group Rheinmetall is awaiting approval to supply the murder tank. The group told ARD Capital Studios on Tuesday that it had recovered 16 Marder armored personnel carriers from the old Bundeswehr stock – at its own expense. The tanks are “deliverable” but there is no export license from the federal government yet

Rheinmetall has already started 14 other marten processes, ARD Capital City Studio said. If necessary, another 70 vehicles from the old stock can be made usable again.

Podoljak: “Germany, we await your word”

3:35 PM: After recent successes in the country’s northeast, Ukraine has criticized German hesitancy over tank supplies and ring-swapping procedures. “There is no tank for six months because there is no ‘political decision’ about it,” presidential adviser Mykhailo Podoliak wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. Because of German ambivalence, Russia can continue to “terrorize” and Ukrainians must die.

“Germany, we await your word,” the 50-year-old addressed Berlin. In the Ukrainian version of the Twitter post, Podolczak directly named the so-called ring exchange, which is run by the federal government. “The ring exchange system does not work,” it says. This meant that the former Eastern Bloc states gave their old Soviet weapons to Ukraine and received modern equipment from the Federal Republic in return. During the recent offensive in the Kharkiv region, the Ukrainian army used T-72 tanks supplied by Poland.
