Former Schalke player Amine Harit, who was nominated by Morocco for the World Cup in Qatar, appears to have suffered a serious injury in the last Ligue 1 game with Olympique Marseille before the tournament. His participation in the World Cup with Morocco seems to be in jeopardy, although there is no official diagnosis yet.
With the score being 1-1 against AS Monaco at the Stade Louis II, the 25-year-old collided with ASM defender Axel Disasi in the 58th minute of the game and was consequently down for four minutes, his face contorted with pain. Harit held his left knee and had to be carried off the field on a stretcher.
National coach Hoalid Regragui only announced his squad for the World Cup on November 10, including Harit and stars like Yassine Bounou, Noussair Mazraoui, Achraf Hakimi, Youssef En-Nesyri and Hakim Ziyech.
Former club Schalke 04 will receive €5m for Harit from Marseille after the Moroccan made his 15th competitive appearance of the season for Marseille against Lyon on 6 November.
