BVB star Mats Hummels reacts disappointed to the World Cup

Mats Hummels has a hard time nibbling on his non-consideration for the World Cup in Qatar. The central defender from Borussia Dortmund expressed this with a short statement on Instagram.

“Unsurprisingly, this is one of the biggest disappointments of my career,” wrote Hummels. He keeps his fingers crossed for the DFB-Elf and will use the time “to react to such an experience with hard work, as always”.

Noisy picture Hummels is said to have been informed by national coach Hansi Flick late on Wednesday evening about his World Cup exit. The Dortmunder is said to be thinking about resigning from the DFB team.

BVB sports director Sebastian Kehl said the decision was “not easy for Hummels to accept because he has performed well in recent weeks and months and is very important to us in the team”.

National coach Hansi Flick justified the waiver of Hummels at the finals in Qatar starting on November 20 with a decision for the future.

“He’s in excellent form and is in great shape, but for us it’s more of a look into the future,” said Flick at the presentation of his 26-man squad in Frankfurt/Main. Hummels will be 34 in December.
