FC Bayern Munich vs. Mainz 05: Bundesliga NOW in the live ticker – before the start

Before start: Incidentally, there were home wins between the two teams last season. In December 2021 in the Allianz Arena, the Munich team asserted themselves 2-1 after falling behind. That meant the fifth home win in a row against the 05ers, who last took something from the Bavarian capital in April 2017 (2:2). Mainz’s last away win was a good year ago, in March 2016 (2-1).

Before start: Although FC Bayern is not the best home team, they have not yet lost a competitive game in the Allianz Arena. There were a few point losses during the Munich creative crisis at the end of August/beginning of September against Mönchengladbach (1:1) and Stuttgart (2:2). In all seasons, the record champions have not lost at home for almost ten months, the last one against Gladbach (1: 2) at the beginning of January. Since then, they haven’t lost 16 competitive games on their own field, eleven of which have been won. Right now things are really getting going again. Since the defeat in Augsburg in mid-September, eight unbeaten games (seven wins) followed. In the meantime, they got revenge on FCA in the DFB Cup with a 5:2 win. And in the Champions League they celebrated their fifth win in five games on Wednesday (3-0 in Barcelona).

Before start: However, the 05ers arrived as the best away team in the Bundesliga. Mainz only lost at TSG Hoffenheim (1:4) and in Freiburg (1:2). All other guest performances were victorious. Together with the DFB Cup, that’s six in number – with a total of only two goals conceded. The FSV is currently undefeated in four competitive games, the last three in Bremen (2-0), in Lübeck (3-0) and at home against Cologne (5-0) were won flawlessly.

Before start: From a tabular point of view, the second hosts the seventh here. There are only four points between the two teams. FC Bayern shines with the best offense (32 goals this season) and the strongest defense together with Union Berlin (eight goals conceded). However, Mainz have only conceded five more goals, making them number 4 in the league. In front, however, the Rheinhessen scored only half as many goals (16) as the Munich team.

Before start: Danny da Costa (ill), Maxim Leitsch (state of exhaustion) and Marlon Mustapha (thigh injury) are not available for the guests today.

Before start: The following eleven players are initially on the field for 1. FSV Mainz 05:

  • Mainz 05: Zentner – Fernandes, Hack, Caci – Widmer, Barreiro, Aaron, Stach, J.-S. Lee-Onisiwo, Burkardt

Before start: Julian Nagelsmann relies on the same line-up as on Wednesday in the Champions League in the 3-0 win at FC Barcelona. This also means that, somewhat surprisingly, full-back Noussair Mazraoui is again preferred to Benjamin Pavard, the Frenchman is initially on the bench. Up front, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting storms against his former club.

  • Bavaria: Ulreich – Mazraoui, Upamecano, de Ligt, Davies – Goretzka, Kimmich – Gnabry, Musiala, Mané – Choupo-Moting

Before start: FC Bayern Munich currently has 22 points in the Bundesliga – just one point fewer than Union Berlin, who are first in the table. Even a draw is enough for the Munich team today to conquer the top of the table, at least until tomorrow. However, FC Bayern Munich are still missing top performers Thomas Müller and Manuel Neuer. Mainz 05 is also doing well in the league as seventh in the table. With a win, the guests continue to establish themselves in the top third of the table.

Before start: The duel on the 12th Bundesliga match day begins this afternoon at 3.30 p.m. in the Allianz Arena in Munich.

Before start: Hello and welcome to the live ticker of the encounter between FC Bayern Munich and Mainz 05.
