Thanks to European champion Georgia Stanway, Bayern Munich’s footballers have crowned a catch-up race with their second win in their second game in the Champions League. On Thursday, coach Alexander Straus’ team won 3-2 (0-1) at Benfica Lisbon.
The Englishwoman Stanway (83rd) managed to equalize late – and then the winning goal (90th + 8th).
In Group D, the Munich team is in second place, level on points with leaders FC Barcelona.
Before Stanway’s late double pack, Maximiliane Rall (67th) had scored the 1: 2 from the Bundesliga side’s point of view. Nycole Raysla (42′) and Canada’s Cloe Lacasse (59′) scored for Benfica.
