The VfL Wolfsburg footballers celebrated their second win in two games in the Champions League. Three days after the success in the top Bundesliga game against Bayern Munich (2-1), the German champions deservedly won 2-0 (1-0) at Slavia Prague in the Czech Republic.
Jule Brand, who was named the best U21 player in Europe (Golden Girl) last week, took the lead early on (11′). The 20-year-old pushed the ball over the line from close range after a cross from national team colleague Svenja Huth. Huth also scored the second goal by Ewa Pajor (76th).
Wolfsburg leads Group B after an effortless opening win over SKN St. Pölten from Austria (4:0) with the perfect number of points. AS Roma, the Bundesliga club’s next opponent at the end of November, also has six points.
