Managing Director Hans-Joachim Watzke from BVB commented on the rumors about midfield star Jude Bellingham ahead of the Champions League game against Manchester City (0-0).
at Prime video he said, “I don’t know if he wants to go”. However, the 63-year-old underlined that they would “talk to each other” should Bellingham seek a departure from Borussia Dortmund.
Watzke emphasized in this context: “So far that hasn’t happened. It’s not like we want to sell him.”
It is not without reason that 19-year-old Bellingham arouses desire throughout Europe: the teenager has already scored eight competitive goals for BVB in the current season. In the premier class alone he has four goals.
The English international, whose contract with the Champions League round of 16 runs until 2025, was last traded as a newcomer to Spain’s record champions Real Madrid. He is in talks with several major Premier League clubs.
According to media reports, City striker Erling Haaland is also trying to lure his former teammate to Manchester. City’s team manager Pep Guardiola praised before the game against Westphalia: “Meanwhile he is one of the captains of the team. At 19 years old – that’s very impressive.”
