FC Bayern, News: Effenberg raves about Jamal Musiala
Ex-Bayern professional Stefan Effenberg raves about Jamal Musiala. “We can be happy that he decided to join the German national team,” wrote the 2001 Champions League winner in his column sports1: “The creativity that Musiala possesses is unbelievable.”
The 54-year-old is also impressed by the way the top talent presents himself off the pitch. “His interviews after the games are funny and he gets to the point,” says Effenberg. Musiala is currently developing into “the next big star in the Bundesliga”.
The 19-year-old has scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 16 competitive games. He is currently directly involved in a goal every 58 minutes. The attacking player also scored another goal in Hoffenheim.
FC Bayern, News: “There’s nothing that Choupo can’t do”
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is currently experiencing a high at FC Bayern Munich. This does not surprise Christian Heidel, however. “There’s nothing Choupo can’t do,” said the FSV Mainz 05 board member about the FCB attacker table football: “Many were surprised when he switched to Bayern. I said straight away that this is the perfect transfer for this role.” Both had once worked together in Mainz.
Other companions also expressed themselves enthusiastically in the specialist magazine. “Choupo is an outstanding teammate,” praises Nikolce Noveski, for example: “He creates a good atmosphere, is very open and empathetic. One who also takes responsibility in the dressing room.”
Dieter Hecking, the Cameroonian’s ex-coach at 1. FC Nürnberg, thinks that it could have been “a little earlier, a little more”. He begrudge him his successes but from the heart. “Everyone likes to have him on their team,” said the 58-year-old.
In his ten competitive appearances this season, Choupo-Moting was directly involved in seven goals, five he scored himself. His contract with Bayern expires next summer. “We know what we have in him,” said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic recently about him.
FC Bayern, News: Rummenigge and Lahm inducted into the Hall of Fame
The two former Bayern stars Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Philipp Lahm have been inducted into the Hall of Fame of German football. The jury’s vote was unequivocal for both. Rummenigge collected 15 out of 20 votes at the most recent appointment conference, while Lahm even received one more vote.
82 proposals had been received prior to discussion of inclusion. This time there was a choice of one player each for defence, midfield and attack. Bernd Schuster was also voted into the Hall of Fame by the jury.
FC Bayern, News: Müller’s return expected in Barcelona
Julian Nagelsmann can probably fall back on Thomas Müller in Barcelona during the week. According to that table football should the German national player be back in the squad. Worse fears have not been confirmed at Kingsley Coman either. The Frenchman, like Müller, should be available in the Champions League. The coach still has to do without Manuel Neuer, Leroy Sané and Lucas Hernández.
Neuer has good cards for a comeback against Mainz at the weekend. A Sané return is expected against Inter Milan at the earliest. Hernández could potentially make his comeback in the last game of the year against Werder Bremen.

Bayern have only won once of the last three away games in Mainz – in February 2020 (3-1). The FSV prevailed in both 2021 (1: 2) and 2022 (1: 3). On the upcoming Bundesliga weekend, both teams will meet in Munich for the first time this season.
FC Bayern, News: Women “disappointed with the result” after a top game
The women of FC Bayern Munich lost the top game in the Bundesliga at VfL Wolfsburg 1:2. “I’m disappointed with the result,” said Alexander Straus afterwards Magenta sports: “I think we deserved more.” The coach was particularly satisfied with the final phase, in which Klara Bühl was able to score the first goal. “For me, attacking our goal is the attack of the game,” said the 47-year-old.
In the table, Bayern slip back to third place. The gap to VfL is already five points after only five match days. “We are early in a process,” Straus explained the situation: “Coming here and showing this performance gives us self-confidence.”
In the future, the team will be “much better than today”. The Norwegian only took over the team in the summer. His former club SK Brann celebrated the defense of the league title in Norway this weekend, in which he was instrumental in the first half of the year.
