Mario Götze apparently declined the invitation from Hansi Flick

Mario Götze allegedly rejected an invitation to the national team from national coach Hansi Flick back in September. That reports the picture.

According to this, after the cancellations of Leon Goretzka (FC Bayern) and Julian Brandt (Borussia Dortmund) due to illness, Flick thought about calling Götze into the squad for the games against Hungary (0: 1) and in England (3: 3).

After consultation with the 2014 World Cup hero, the national coach let it go. The 30-year-old offensive player is said to have taken a break in Milan instead.

There has been speculation for weeks as to whether Götze could make his DFB comeback at the World Cup in Qatar (November 20th to December 18th). Noisy picture the native of Memminger is at least in Flick’s provisional 55-man squad.

Götze, who last played for Germany in the 2-2 win against France in November 2017, put in a strong performance in Eintracht Frankfurt’s 3-1 win at Borussia Mönchengladbach on Saturday.

Lothar Matthäus raves about Mario Götze

“Hansi Flick saw a Mario Götze in outstanding form today,” judged sky-Expert Lothar Matthäus: “I could imagine that he has a huge chance of making the squad. He has outstanding skills and has shown again that he belongs to the national team.”

Götze moved to Frankfurt from PSV Eindhoven in the summer. In 17 competitive games he scored two goals and prepared two more goals.
