Julian Draxler can imagine a return to FC Schalke 04, as he spoke to the YouTuber GamerBrother confirmed. “In any case, I can imagine that,” emphasized the 29-year-old and continued: “The contact is still there, but more with employees in the club. The team has also changed extremely over the years. Ralf Fährmann knows me from before.”
Draxler, who made his debut for the Royal Blues at the age of 17, is still positive about his time with the Royal Blues. “You get up and think: All of this can’t be real. It’s the best time of your career when you’re making your breakthrough. I enjoyed it, things were only going uphill at Schalke back then,” he explained.
Draxler also spoke about his current employer Benfica Lisbon and only found positive words here: “I like the city a lot, the club is great”.
With the capitals around coach Roger Schmidt, the national player can collect more minutes than before at Paris Saint-Germain. His goal: the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
At Schalke, Draxler worked in the youth teams from 2001 to 2011 before making the leap to the pros. In 2015 he finally switched to VfL Wolfsburg for 43 million euros, two years later he moved to the French capital.
