German Football Ambassador and Common Goal cooperate globally

The President of the non-profit association German Football Ambassadors, Roland Bischof, announced a global cooperation with Common Goal at a joint panel with ex-national player Torsten Frings at the Spielmacherkonferenz in Cologne.

The Common Goal Initiative, co-founded by Juan Mata in 2017, unites more than four hundred professional football players, coaches, consultants, clubs and sponsors and non-profit organizations worldwide in their commitment to a more socially just and ecologically sustainable world.

Members of the movement donate at least one percent of their income to selected projects related to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Common Goal’s circle of supporters already include Serge Gnabry, Jürgen Klopp, Julian Nagelsmann, Werder Bremen and the sporting goods manufacturer Adidas from Germany and the Bundesliga.

After a decade of trusting cooperation with streetfootballworld, the world’s leading football organization for social change, whose activities will be continued under the umbrella brand Common Goal in the future, the German Football Ambassador is not only continuing his long-standing commitment to social issues as part of his global cooperation with Common Goal but also gains a competent partner who will comprehensively accompany the social and ecological commitment of the German Football Ambassador in the future.

Bischof emphasized the importance of the UN sustainability goals for a globally coordinated approach to the social challenges of our time and added: “Common Goal combines great content-related competence in the area of ​​social commitment with a collective effort to use the power of football for positive social and economic changes . These qualities make Common Goal an ideal partner for the German Football Ambassador.”

Jürgen Griesbeck, co-founder of Common Goal, was just as pleased with the cooperation: “The German Football Ambassador has been honoring deserving people and initiatives for many years who are not only great representatives of Germany abroad, but also positive role models for the football in which they use their influence to campaign for more equal opportunities and social cohesion worldwide. We are proud to be able to support this important task in close cooperation with the German Football Ambassador and his award winners.”

The German Football Ambassador, who is cooperating with the international conference as part of the 10th anniversary of his club, presented not only the panel with Frings but also a panel with Anja Zivkovic on women empowerment in football; a topic that has been close to the club’s heart not only since its newly gained popularity.

The German Football Ambassador, based in Berlin, was founded in 2012 by Roland Bischof and honors German coaches and players who contribute to the positive image of football and Germany through their appearance and commitment. The awards come with prize money for social projects. From Nepal to Namibia: Since 2013, the association has been able to support more than 40 projects worldwide.
