Noisy Le Parisien PSG has posted a record loss of 300-350 million euros for the 2021/22 season. This would be the highest financial deficit in the club’s history.
It is also the third year of losses in a row. According to the report, the main reason for this is the Corona crisis in particular. So no income from ticket sales could be generated. But the salary costs of the PSG stars have apparently also risen sharply.
PSG, which owns one of the richest businessmen in world football with owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi, is also likely to suffer from the monster contract issued to Kylian Mbappé. The superstar has the highest-paying contract in football. A curious agreement could cause additional financial damage for the club.
But the Sheikh Club is not the only top European club to make the headlines because of horrendous debts. Juventus and Inter Milan also suffered massive losses last year. At Juventus, this could even lead to an existential crisis.
