Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah scored the fastest hat-trick in Champions League history as the Reds smashed Glasgow Rangers. The Egyptian scored 7-1 (1-1) three times within six minutes (75th/80th/81st), only shortly before (68th) he had been substituted on by team manager Jürgen Klopp.
Ex-Hoffenheimer Roberto Firmino (24th/55th) and Darwin (66th) had turned the game in front of Salah. The Scots had taken the lead through Scott Arfield after 17 minutes, Harvey Elliott (87) completed an entertaining second half.
Liverpool have one leg in the round of 16 after their third win in four games.
Behind the already qualified SSC Napoli, the six-time champions, who have already fallen far behind in the English Premier League, are in second place – with a clear lead over Ajax Amsterdam and the pointless Rangers.
