Injured on penalty! Paulo Dybala threatens to lose the World Cup

AS Roma striker Paulo Dybala has apparently lost his World Cup participation with Argentina in Qatar. This was confirmed by Giallorossi coach José Mourinho after the 2-1 win against US Lecce.

“He’s doing badly, not to say very, very badly,” Mourinho said after Sunday’s Serie A game. “Unfortunately, he’s doing very badly rather than badly.”

What happened? Dybala made the final score with a penalty in the 48th minute, but injured himself on the shot and had to be substituted immediately – Nemanja Matić replaced him.

“I’m not a doctor and I haven’t spoken to the doctor, but based on my experience and what I learned from talking to Paulo, it’s difficult,” Mourinho said when asked if Dybala would still play in 2022 could.

For Dybala, this would be equivalent to being eliminated from the World Cup, which begins on November 20th and lasts until just before Christmas. Further investigations should provide information about the muscle injury.
