Will Lionel Messi stay with PSG in the long term? PSG’s strategic advisor Luis Campos recently stressed that they are very happy with the Argentine.
Opposite to RMC Sports the advisor, who was not undisputed in Paris, explained that Paris would like to keep Messi. “I asked him if he wanted to stay and I told him I hope he would stay here for the whole of my tenure. I’m very happy with Leo.”
Campos signed a three-year contract in the French capital in the summer while Messi’s contract with PSG expires next summer. However, there will be no decision in the coming weeks, Messi wants to concentrate fully on the World Cup in Qatar and only then think about his future with the Parisians.
The contract of Sergio Ramos (36) is also expiring, the Spaniard was in good shape after a weak first season, which could well be rewarded: “I’m happy with Sergio Ramos, so if he continues to perform like this – why isn’t he? He’s having a very good season, the same goes for Leo Messi – it would be good to extend both contracts,” Campos continued.
Messi signed a two-year contract in Paris in 2021, since then the 35-year-old has played 44 competitive games for PSG, in which he has 39 points (16 goals, 23 assists). In the first season, the Parisians were sovereign champions in Ligue 1, but in the Champions League it was already over in the round of 16 against eventual winners Real Madrid (1-0, 1-3).
