Real Madrid without Karim Benzema for the time being

Real Madrid will have to do without their star striker Karim Benzema for the time being. The Frenchman suffered a tendon and muscle injury in his right thigh in the opening game of the Champions League at Celtic Glasgow (3-0).

The captain was substituted after half an hour and replaced by Eden Hazard. The royals did not provide any information about the downtime after the examination on Wednesday mark expects a comeback in early October. “I’m not complaining, I’ll come back stronger,” Benzema posted on social media.

The attacker underwent an investigation on Wednesday morning, the result of which ruled out at least a long-term failure. “At first glance, it doesn’t seem to be a cause for concern. It’s not clear whether it’s muscular,” coach Carlo Ancelotti said after the game.

In the current season, the 34-year-old has four goals and one assist after six games, but on Sunday against RCD Mallorca and next Wednesday against RB Leipzig it will have to be decided by others. Substitute Hazard performed well and was directly involved in two goals (one goal, one assist).
