Sasa Kalajdzic joins Wolverhampton Wanderers

VfB Stuttgart gives up its top striker Sasa Kalajdzic shortly before the end of the transfer after months of hanging. The Austrian international is moving to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League. The 25-year-old is said to bring the Swabians a transfer fee of initially 18 million euros, plus bonuses of up to seven million euros and a resale participation.

Kalajdzic has signed a five-year contract with Wolves with a one-year option. The attacker came to the Neckar in 2019 and scored 24 goals in 60 competitive games for VfB. A few weeks ago, he was also under discussion at Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

“The time at VfB will remain unforgettable for me. But I felt that Wolverhampton is now the best step in my development. It was also the club that tried hardest for me. I know that I made the decision will not regret,” said Kalajdzic.

The striker’s career is “another impressive example of how VfB offers young players perfect framework conditions and development opportunities,” emphasized VfB sporting director Sven Mislintat.
