Against the overwhelmed regional league club Teutonia Ottensen, the favorite easily prevailed 8-0 (4-0) on Tuesday evening in front of 13,084 spectators in the Red Bull Arena.

Dreierpacker Werner (19./20./43.), Andre Silva (40./53.), Emil Forsberg (56.), substitute Christopher Nkunku (77.) and Dani Olmo (90.) gave the Saxons theirs Hit the highest win in their young cup history. Six starting eleven changes by coach Domenico Tedesco compared to the first division win against VfL Wolfsburg (2-0) did not change the fact that the three-class difference was clearly visible.

Because of the DFL Supercup, the game was scheduled a month late. Originally, the Teutonia wanted to move to Dessau, 350 km away from Hamburg. However, on the weekend before last, strangers devastated the lawn with a chemical, whereupon the home right was swapped.

RB, which is about to sign former Gladbacher Max Eberl as head of sport, promised support for the small club. “We have decided that we will make all of the revenue available to Teutonia,” announced managing director Oliver Mintzlaff before the start of Sky. In addition, they want to “help” the city of Dessau. Ottensen’s sporting director Liborio Mazzagatti thanked him for the cash injection in the half-time interview.

Teutonia’s DFB Cup premiere went as expected, with Leipzig alone setting the pace. The first big chance was missed by Andre Silva, who headed against the post (7th). Werner, who returned from the start, just missed the goal with a header (18′).

A minute later he did better with his foot after a fine pass from Forsberg. 19 seconds after the restart, the national striker followed suit, and immediately afterwards a long-range shot from Xaver Schlager hit the post.

When Leipzig had just slowed down a bit, Werner served his strike partner Silva the 3-0. Three minutes later, after another Forsberg assist, it was his turn again.

After that, keeper Yannick Zummack often alone successfully resisted the superiority of Leipzig. Silva’s precision shot, which bounced off the bottom edge of the bar, was powerless.

Forsberg scored the 6:0 with the hoe. RB made four changes – but continued to shoot at the Teutonia goal almost every minute and increased.
