NBA News – Anti-Semitism: Nets star Kyrie Irving under fire

Kyrie Irving has once again drawn the anger of the Brookyln Nets with his behavior off the court. The 30-year-old posted a link to a movie on social media whose content is considered anti-Semitic. The franchise responded quickly.

“I am disappointed that Kyrie appears to be supporting a movie based on a book full of anti-Semitic misinformation,” team owner Joe Tsai wrote on Friday (local time). On twitter. He now wants to “sit down with Irving on the matter and make sure he understands that this is detrimental to all of us,” Tsai said. It is wrong to “promote hatred based on race, ethnicity, or religion.”

The club also released a statement: “The Brooklyn Nets strongly condemn the tolerance and encouragement of any form of hate speech,” it said: “We believe our first action in these situations should be open and honest dialogue.”

This is not the first time Irving has been criticized. The star player missed numerous Nets games last season due to his refusal to get vaccinated against Corona. The guard himself has not yet spoken publicly about the new controversy.
